Meet, assist & transfer to Kandy En rout visit Pinnawala PINNAWELA ELEPHANT ORPHNAGE - At this orphanage you will find elephants of all ages, which are abandoned or otherwise unable to fend for themselves by way of being injured. They are looked after with loving care until such time they are ready to work or be freed back to the jungles. The unique feature is that one could feed the baby elephants with bottles of milk during the feeding times. The elephants are also bathed daily in a river located across the orphanage. This is an Elephant photographer's Paradise. Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and thereafter witness a cultural show featuring traditional Sri Lankan dancing. Pm Kandy city tour KANDY - Kandy is the 2nd largest city, 115 kilometers inland from Colombo, climatically a world away due to its 500-meter altitude. The hill capital of Kandy was the last stronghold of the ancient Sinhala Kings against the British Empire. The focus of Kandy is its lake with the Temple of the Tooth "Dalada Maligawa". The surrounding hills are perched looking down on the town. The city of Kandy, which is also known as 'Senkadagala', features the most sacred of all Buddhist shrines - the Temple of the Tooth or the 'Dalada Maligawa'. Overnight stay at Hotel Topaz in Kandy Day 02 - KANDY / NUWARA ELIYA After breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya, visiting a tea plantation en-route NUWARA ELIYA - "The City of Light" was the favourite hill station of the British, a scenic town 2500 m above sea level surrounded by misty mountain ranges, pine forests and tea cultivations. Nuwara Eliya has a much cooler climate, which is in stark contrast to the tropical climate experienced in other parts of the island. This is probably why Nuwara Eliya is also known as 'Little England'. The areas around Nuwara Eliya also provide the main output of tea in Sri Lanka. A trip to the highlands of Sri Lanka is never complete without witnessing the age-old traditional tea plucking and sipping a cup of "Ceylon Tea". Visitors to Nuwara Eliya can also taste the freshly plucked strawberries and purchase fresh fruit and vegetables.
